Harmonic Motion

The dimension of time gives graphic form a whole new means of expression. We need to think about not only composition but also the concepts of rhythm and movement. Within the realms of code, we have a very powerful mathematical function that enables us to explore motion in a procedural manner. The trigonometric sin function is used to generate smooth frequency and amplitude values that can then be used as we wish to change position, size, colour, shape... an endless field of visual possibilites to explore.

Properties

  • Position & size
  • Interactions

  • '+' & '-' changes mode [2 modes]
  • MouseX changes frequency [only mode 1]
  • MouseY changes amplitude [only mode 1]
  • 'l' & 'm' changes grid interval
